Just me

Retired chaplain. I am a born and raised SoCal adult. I was educated in the public school system of North Orange County with just enough religious training to help guide me as I traveled down the road to maturity, but not quite enough to keep me completely out of the pitfalls that are inevitable in life. I went from optimistic teen to pessimistic adult during my three years of military service. This is something; I am pleased to state, that I have overcome. I am the proud father of three, daughter, son, daughter, and I have very good relationships with my two daughters and a recently renewed relationship with my son.

My educational crowning achievement has been the successful completion and certification as an Associate Clinical Chaplain and Associate Pastoral Counselor. This was by far the most intense 1,600+ hours of spiritual study, self evaluation and application that I had ever imagined possible . I completed my four units at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center in Long Beach, CA in 2010. It was on September 24, in that same year when I was board certified by the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy. (CPSP) In Dec. 2016 I allowed my Certification with CPSP to expire. I Grandfathered my Certification with The Center for Spiritual Care and Pastoral Formation in 2014.. (CSCPF) Retired Sept 2019. I have now allowed my certifications to permanently expire, 2019.
My studies in chaplaincy were in conjunction with my call and education toward ordination. This was six plus years of training in the traditional disciplines of Church. This was completed in a small Independent Catholic Church, and in the end I was denied Holy Orders. This was indeed a crushing blow to me, but not a crippling one. After some time in discernment, I feel that I am still being called to and being drawn in by the Spirit, and at least for now, this site is how I am to express that call. And so here I am.
I am a divorced man who has survived various challenges of life. I am an emerging being, attempting to be the best person that I am capable of.
Now, taking care of family and learning how to relax.
